At the age of 10, Steve picked up his first pair of drum sticks. He played along to his favorite albums in the basement for years, until he eventually joined a punk rock band in high school. They somehow managed to record two full length albums with a two channel interface in his bandmate’s garage. They sounded terrible. But this was when his fascination with recorded sound began.
After a year of studying mechanical engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, Steve decided to shift his focus to music. He transferred to Berklee College of Music, receiving a double major in Music Production and Engineering and Drum Set Performance. He then moved to Los Angeles and started working at Village Studios, where he was able to hone his craft under some of the best in the business.
Steve has had the pleasure of working with Robert DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots), John Alagia (Dave Matthews Band), Jamie Candiloro (Ryan Adams), Pentatonix, Justin Timberlake, and many more. He has also played on and mixed several film scores written by Nicholas Jacobson Larson, including Emmy winning Matthew Shepard is a Friend of Mine.
As a drummer, Steve has played with many bands, toured nationally, and performed in the French West Indies. He has also co-written music for Nickelodeon and Forevermark Diamonds.
In the post production world, Steve has done extensive recording, editing, and mixing work for Nickelodeon Animation Studios, both as freelancer and a staff member. He is currently a post production mixer for Vice News Tonight.
